Situated at the northern end of the Kruger Park, in the Limpopo Province, the sleepy town of Phalaborwa is home to one of South Africa's most novel Golf Courses and Country Clubs.

Originally the play ground for local mine workers, the Country Club is now a substantial 4 star Lodge with great sports facilities, restaurants and bars.

Most people visiting will be here for the golf, but non golfers can relax by one of the 3 pools, play tennis, use the gym, or participate in one of the many excursions offered, including game drives. There is a beauty salon with some treatments and hairdressing for some pampering, or chill out at the pool bar, which becomes very lively in the evenings.

For golfers, Hans Merensky is a fantastic course. You can expect to encounter giraffe, zebra, antelope and even hippos and crocs. Don't worry they've seen many a slice off the 1st before! There is also a range of practice facilities including a driving range.

Rooms
There a number of room options from double bedrooms in the hotel area to 2 bedroom chalets on the golf course with full self-catering facilities. Not the most luxurious of accommodation, reflecting the 4 star status, but very spacious and definitely of a high standard with en suite bathrooms, TV, air con and all mod cons. Suites have large patio areas outside and it is possible to barbeque your own food.

Dining
The Leadwood restaurant is A la carte most nights, with occasional braai nights or buffets. There is also food served at the pool, with its own pizza oven, and bar snacks available from the 19th hole Clubhouse, just a short distance away. Breakfast is served in the Leadwood, under the watchful eyes of the Vervet Monkeys, always hoping for a treat.
