Royal Cape Golf Club

Formed in 1885, the Royal Cape Golf Course is the oldest club in South Africa and the whole of Africa. It is a championship course of some repute and has hosted the prestigious SA Open 11 times. Once you visit this flat parkland golf course you'll see why. The tree-lined fairways are narrow with many water hazards and bunkers. The golf course is always well groomed and has mountain views  from just about every hole.

There is plenty of water on the course, particularly at the corner of the 3rd, 4th and 5th and then again around the 14th, 15th and 16th. The 4th and 15th are beautiful par 3's, the 15th in particular requiring a finely judged shot over the water which encroaches right up to the edge of the green.

The most difficult holes are the 3rd, a 435m par 4 and the dog leg 14th with water surrounding the green & some well-placed trees!
