Designed by Peter Matkovich, this 18-hole course is set among vineyards and orange groves, alongside the Blaauwklippen River. With magnificent mountain backdrops, this exquisite setting presents an exciting challenge to golfers of all standards.
Not quite as manicured as other winelands courses, with slightly longer grass on the fairways and rough, in our opinion better for it. The fairways are wide and open with some tricky dog legs and quite a varied topography. There is a lot of water on the course with 2 tricky par 3's on the front nine, including the ninth hole with its postage stamp-sized green. It requires real accuracy and courage!
Overall the course has a memorable layout with many challenges, especially the back nine. The short par-four 12th is played from an island tee over a large stretch of water to a green that can be driven if you're brave enough to try and carry the water. The 13th is a par five split by a large central bunker which divides the fairway towards the green and some wickedly deep bunkers that guard the front.
The round ends with a spectacular hole which you drive from raised tee boxes, but beware the stream that guards the front to the green.
