An ideal base from which to explore the surrounding winelands, Le Quartier Francais is a country retreat located in Franschhoek in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Franschhoek is renowned as the French gourmet capital of the Cape, and Le Quartier keeps with this tradition. The retreat first became known for its restaurant of the same name, after which the auberge was built.

Le Quartier's buildings were originally labourers' cottages, which have since been restored but still maintain the original Provencal façade. The cottages surround pristine landscaped gardens and a large, natural pool - perfect for relaxing around while appreciating the mountain and wineland setting.

The exclusive house suite is set in a private garden courtyard with a natural Mediterranean pool and is perfect for honeymooners. Voted 38th best restaurant in the world in 2006, 'The Tasting Room', is the flagship dining experience at Le Quartier. Choose from 6 or 8 course tasting menus with accompanying wines.

The Le Quartier's bistro restaurant 'Ici' offers diners innovative Cape Provençal, French and Malay dishes. It's a light and airy restaurant with vibrant and colourful décor, and leads onto a French style courtyard where meals can be enjoyed 'al fresco'.
