A new addition to the golf courses of the Garden Route, Pinnacle Point is a spectacular links course the winds along the cliffs at Mossel Bay, just a 30 minute drive from George. "One of the most stunning places I have ever seen", was Darren Clarke's verdict.
The course has literally been carved out of the cliffs with tee boxes and greens separated by gorges in which the waves crash below. For those that are intimidated by the long par 3 drives to the green you have the option to lay up, playing to the side of the cliff, around the gorges. This is real, 'who dares wins' stuff!
The 9th and 18th are both cliff-hugging fairways, the 9th a par 3 and the 18th a less adrenalin-pumping par 5 but with an option to cut the corner if it comes down to the wire. Over-shoot the green on either and watch your ball disappear into the crashing waves below.
A magical course but at present it can only be played if you stay at least one night in the estate's hotel or lodges.
The feedback we have had from clients, is that it is well worth it.
