Camp Okavango

Camp Okavango is situated on the remote Nxaragha Island in the heart of the Okavango Delta, assuring a year-round water wilderness experience. This wonderful lodge affords guests the ability to enjoy a true Botswana safari in the Okavango Delta.

Unashamed luxury blends with the Africa of a bye gone era in the elegant thatch buildings which house the cocktail bar, lounge and dining room. On the deck, the expansive open air patio caters for al fresco meals and evenings around a blazing fire. Camp Okavango’s silver service dinner is served by candelabra and is renowned among African travellers.

Shaded hammocks, reading benches and a delightful sundeck and plunge pool, provide relief during the hot midday sun, whilst an elevated observation platform affords stunning views of the tranquil flood plains and is a wonderful spot for sun downer drinks.

Game Viewing at Camp Okavango
Safari activities include exploring the Okavango by mokoro canoe and motorised boats or wildlife and bird watching expeditions. Guided nature walks on the islands of the Delta afford an opportunity to track some of the larger species that inhabit this Botswana safari wilderness.

Rooms at Camp Okavango
Camp Okavango accommodates only 24 guests in intimate East African style safari tents, individually sited on raised teak platforms with en-suite bathrooms and a private sundeck.

Each tent is furnished with a Rhodesian Teak wardrobe, luggage rack, a dressing table, bedside pedestals and traditional directors chairs, colourful woven rugs, and designer linen. Honeymooners are catered for with special attention and, for those that demand the ultimate in exclusivity, Camp Okavango boasts the “Okavango Suite” where your stay may include private game viewing activities.

The camp is a sister property to Savute Safari Lodge and Chobe Game Lodge, and is offered as part of a multi-centre Botswana safari itinerary. This gives you a chance to experience different types of safari experiences in different terrains.

Your stay at Camp Okavango is inclusive of accommodation, all meals, all local brand drinks, scheduled game-viewing activities, park entrance fees and laundry service.
