Jocks Safari Lodge

The 5* Jock Safari Lodge is nestled at the confluence of the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers, in the south-western corner of the Kruger National Park. The lodge offers 6,000 hectares of exclusive traversing rights in an area of the park which is celebrated for Big Cats game viewing.

Rooms at Jocks Safari Lodge
There are two lodges, the Main Lodge and a smaller camp, Fitzpatricks at Jock’s which is the perfect haven for small groups, families and individuals seeking to unwind amidst the natural beauty of the Kruger National Park. Fitzpatrick’s offers three perfectly appointed rooms with a shared lounge, deck and swimming pool. Guests can soak up the African sun by their private pool while listening to the sounds of the wild. Fitzpatrick’s at Jock is child-friendly and offers the Kids on Safari programme to encourage educational and recreational wildlife activities. Child minding services are available including educational game drives and wildlife activities.

The main Lodge has twelve secluded thatched suites, offering utter privacy, each  veiled with lush trees and reed walls. The bedrooms lead on to a private deck with plunge pool and a Sala (an outdoor day bed), all with a spectacular view of the riverbed. The rooms are carefully screened by lush trees and reed walls to give a sense of aloneness and oneness with the landscape. At night you can choose to sleep out on the deck in the sala bed which is complete with its own mosquito protection.

Activities
Morning and evening drives are performed in covered 4×4 Landrovers conducted by highly experienced rangers inside the legendary Kruger National Park. The lodge has the rights to a private concession within the park, so you will not see other vehicles whilst on your game drive unless you move onto the public-access areas to follow game.

Other activities include game walks, bird watching, stargazing, visits to rock art sites and spa treatments.

Jock’s is located a short drive south from Skukuza Airport inside the Kruger National Park, it is just 30 minutes from the southern Malelane Gate of the park, which is by the entrance to the Leopard Creek Golf Club. Guests staying at Jock’s are able to play on the course after the morning game drive. Also nearby is the celebrated 9 hole Skukuza Golf Club, a wonderful course actually inside the Kruger park. Whilst it is by no means a championship layout, it is great fun and can be played between game drives.
