Cape Town, Garden Route and Safari Golf Holiday

A superb 21 day South Africa golf holiday, starting in cosmopolitan Cape Town and travelling along the Garden Route, playing some of South Africa’s top golf courses. There is plenty of time for sightseeing and the holiday culminates in a few days at a luxury safari lodge. 

Day 1: Departure Day
Depart on the overnight flight at the start of your South Africa Golfing Holiday.

Day 2: Cape Town
On arrival at Cape Town you will be met by our representative and assisted with the collection of your hire car. Then using your sat nav, drive to the city centre to your accommodation at either the Commodore (5*) or Portswood Hotel (4*), where you will spend 4 nights.  Both hotels are 4 minutes stroll to the famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Spend your next 3 days, exploring Cape Town and playing a round of golf at Atlantic Beach and Steenberg.

Day 6: Cape Town – Stellenbosch
After a leisurely breakfast, you will continue your itinerary to the Winelands with a short drive to Stellenbosch where you will stay at The Village at Spier for 2 nights. You will play a round of golf at De Zalze and the stunning Pearl Valley Golf Club, leaving you plenty of time to indulge in some local wine tasting in the area!

Day 8: Stellenbosch – Hermanus
Drive to the Hermanus area to stay 2 nights B&B at the Schulphoek Guest House or the Arabella Hotel & Spa. The nearby coastline is renowned for the migrating Southern Right whales that come close to shore. (Season: July-Nov). For golfers there is the chance to play the Arabella Championship golf course, past host to the prestigious Nelson Mandela Invitational Tournament. You will have one round of golf here.

Day 10: Hermanus – Fancourt
Continue along the Garden Route to George and one of the highlights of any South Africa golf holidays; spend 3 nights at the Fancourt Golf & Country Estate on B&B accommodation with a round of golf on the Outeniqua and Montagu courses.

Day 13: Fancourt – Knysna
ontinue the short distance on to Knysna for 3 nights B&B at the Leisure Isle Lodge overlooking the shores of the Knysna Lagoon.  There is loads to do in the area, such as a cruise to the famous Knysna Heads, visit the Elephant Sanctuary or enjoy some local seafood at one of the quay side restaurants.  A round of golf at Pezula and either Simola or Goose Valley is included.

Day 16: Knysna – St Francis Bay
Today sees another hop along the coast to your last golf course, the St Francis Links Golf Club at St Francis Bay and 2 nights at the Sandals Guest House in this charming seaside town.

Day 18: St Francis Bay – Safari Lodge
Finally you will head further into the Eastern Cape Province, to safari country for 3 nights at the Pumba Private Safari Lodge or Shamwari Game Reserves, on full board, with twice daily game viewing activities. Each morning will start with a game drive to track down Africa’s Big 5 game animals. You will return for breakfast and the rest of the day to relax before the afternoon game drive or cruise.

Day 21: Departure day
Enjoy a final early morning game drive and a leisurely brunch before heading to Port Elizabeth airport.  You will drop off your hire car before catching your flight to Johannesburg and onwards connecting overnight flight to home.
