Kruger Safari & Mozambique Beach

A 12 night safari and beach holiday combining the wildlife of the Kruger region with the idyllic beaches of Mozambique. Enjoy 6 nights on a South African safari holiday staying in luxury lodges before flying to the coast for 6 nights of relaxation and superb food.

Day 1: Departure Day
Depart on the evening, overnight flight to South Africa.

Day 2: Johannesburg – Ngala Tented Camp
Arrive in Johannesburg on the overnight flight, where you will be met and assisted with your transfer to the Domestic Terminal. You will then catch the short flight to Hoedspruit, close to the Kruger National Park.

On arrival at Hoedspruit you will be met and taken by private road transfer to the Ngala Tented Camp, where you will spend the next 3 nights on a full board basis with drinks and twice daily game viewing activities.

The first private game lodge to be incorporated into Kruger National Park, Ngala offers five-star hotel facilities together with an incomparable safari experience of seeing the ‘Big 5’ and many other African species.

The Camp has 16 luxurious tented suites with en suite bathrooms, a small private deck and delightful outdoor showers that blend into the surrounding bush veld of the Timbavati.

Ngala’s exciting range of tours and safari activities includes twice-daily game drives, interpretive bush walks, exceptional bird watching, stargazing, bush banqueting and children’s activities.

Day 5: Ngala Tented Camp – Tinga Lodge, Sabie Sand Reserve
A final mornings game drive and breakfast before you are transfered to the southern end of the Kruger, for a different kind of safari experience.

Located in the world famous Kruger National Park, Lion Sands Tinga Lodge is idyllically situated on the confluence of the Sabie River and the Sand River. Tinga exudes style and sophistication and offers first-class service to its guests. Enjoy Africa’s ultimate ‘Big Five’ experience from the private game viewing deck of your suite, on safari in an open vehicle, or on foot with an experienced game tracker. Tinga’s two opulent and exclusive lodges, have each been developed with privacy, luxury and comfort in mind. Both Lodges include river decks overlooking the Sabie River, a wine cellar stocked with premier African and international wines, a library, boma, lounge and bar.

Tinga’s two lodges each have nine air-conditioned suites, each with en-suite bathroom and a double shower, private lounge, heated plunge pool, in-room mini bar and safe. Each suite is equipped with a direct-dial telephone, international adaptors, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Each suite is positioned to ensure total privacy, whilst providing unspoilt game views from its own private deck overlooking the Sabie River and the African bush.

You can enjoy a chilled drink on your private deck, relax at your concealed plunge pool or observe the Big Five and hundreds of bird species from the private game viewing deck of your suite. All suites overlook the Sabie River and there are elevated walkways between the public areas of the lodge and each suite.

Day 8: Tinga – Nelspruit – Bazaruto Island
A final morning game drive before you are transferred to the airport at Nelspruit where you will catch a direct flight from the Kruger to the coast of Mozambique at Vilanculos. (please note these flights are not available every day of the week so we may have to alter your safari itinerary to coincide with the direct Kruger-Vilanculos flights.) On arrival at Vilanculos you will be transferred onto a light aircraft for the short hop to Bazaruto Island and your hotel for the next 6 nights.

Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort offers exclusive island accommodation of the best possible standards. The hotel yet is understated and elegant with a relaxed shoes-off feel.

The hotel is located on one of the islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago that has been granted National Marine Park status. It falls into the Eastern African Marine Ecoregion, which stretches over a 4,600 Km coastline, from South Africa to Somalia.

The islands boast over 2 000 fish species, 100 hard and 27 soft corals and at least four whale and five dolphin species. It is particularly important as a refuge to lovable Dugongs that have largely been hunted to the brink of extinction. Bazaruto has the largest remaining population in East Africa.

Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort comprises a total of 50 rooms including two suites, all beautifully  situated on and around the beach. In the main resort building are the 24 Bay View rooms, all with fantastic sea views. The 24 thatch and reed chalets are sheltered and secluded with direct access to the beach and the warm and tropical Indian Ocean.

The hotel offers a choice of bars and varies dinner venues each night, weather permitting with seafood barbeques, themed dinners and local Mozambican Portuguese cuisine, served in the restaurant with its breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean.

Day 14: Departure Day
On your final morning you will be transported back to Vilanculos where you will catch the flight back to Johannesburg and your onwards flight home.

It is possible to swop the Indigo Bay Resort for something a little more intimate and sedate, we have a number if small private island resorts to choose from including Azura and Benguerra Island.
