KwaZulu Natal Golf Courses

Tropical KwaZulu-Natal is blessed with many beautiful country clubs and golf estates, most of them offering accommodation. Base yourself at one of our recommended hotels and then play the other courses in the area. Zimbali, Durban Country Club and Mount Edgecombe are all located north of Durban, whilst Selborne, is to the south. Champagne Sports Resort is located inland in the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountain range with dramatic scenery but can only be played if staying in that area.

The weather in this region makes it the ideal year-round golf destination. The cooling sea breezes on the coastal courses offer some respite from the heat in the South African summer season. The courses are lush and verdant with exquisite indigenous flora and fauna, dramatic coastal settings and challenging golf making the region another must-play location. For non golfers, and some relaxation, enjoy the stunning beaches; Durban’s casinos and nightlife; visit the battlefields, or take an excursion for a few days to one of the regions excellent safari lodges.

There is plenty of accommodation in and around Durban. The most popular destination is the town of Umhlanga Rocks, about 40km north of the city along the coast. It is close to the airport and this lively seaside town has lots of nice hotels and restaurants.
