Kenya Safari and Zanzibar Beach Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive at Nairobi Airport where you will be met and transferred to Giraffe Manor for your first night’s stay and a chance to have a good nights’ rest. In the morning you will meet the local inhabitants of the Manor, the Rotshchild Giraffes, before departing for Wilson Airport and your scheduled flight to Samburu.
Day 2 – On arrival you will be met and transferred for 3 nights stay at Joy’s Camp in the Shaba National Reserve. Built on the site of the original camp of Joy Adamson this is the perfect choice for anyone interested in a glimpse of Kenya’s history.
Accommodation is in ten luxury tents, comprising of a bedroom, sitting room and a private verandah. Each room has full bathroom facilities including a flushing toilet. Massage & beauty treatments are offered from the privacy of your tent.
On day 5 you will be transferred by light aircraft from Samburu to the Masai Mara and to Governor’s Il Moran Camp where you will spend the next 3 nights. The Camp consists of just ten tents all shaded under thick trees. Each of the spacious tents has a very private location with superb views of the Mara River and is furnished luxuriously. Large en-suite bathrooms have flush toilets, a lovely big shower with piping-hot water, and a victorian bath where you can soap the day’s dust away
Day 8 – After your stay at Il Moran you will leave for the island of Zanzibar on a direct flight from Masai Mara. On arrival you will be taken by private transfer to your hotel, The Palms.
This idyllic hotel is located on the eastern side of the island with its picture-postcard white sand beaches and azure Indian Ocean.
Spend the next 5 nights on full board with house drinks, relaxing on the beach. Or for the more energetic it is possible to enjoy sailing, kite surfing, wind surfing and snorkelling or perhaps take a boat trip. The hotel is an excellent base for deep-sea fishing and scuba diving.
There is plenty to do and see on the island with guided tours of Stone Town, with its labyrinth of small passages, markets and open air food stalls. A trip to a spice farm is a must-see experience, or perhaps go snorkelling with dolphins.
Day 13 – On you final day you will be returned to Zanzibar Airport for your afternoon flight to Nairobi and connecting flight home. Arrive back the following morning.
